These are wild surf clams harvested within Galway Bay Surf Clams, or Diamond Clams as they are sometimes called, are characterised by a white, smooth, triangular shaped shell. They are a small clam species growing no larger than 4cm across
These wild clams have a delicate texture and unique fresh - sweet taste which is soft and chewy. Surf Clams can be eaten on their own lightly steamed and they are also very popular in many pasta dishes
